Five days of Moorish Spain,
two of championship golf
The Costa del Sol is more than its beaches and its golf — it is the gateway to Andalusia, the southern Spanish region where eight hundred years of Moorish culture left behind some of the world's great wonders. This itinerary anchors at Finca Cortesín — the Solheim Cup resort hotel between Marbella and Sotogrande — and treats it as a base from which to reach Granada, Valderrama, and the white villages of the interior.
Two championship rounds: the on-site Cabell Robinson masterpiece, and Real Club Valderrama in Sotogrande — Continental Europe's #6 and Spain's #1, the 1997 Ryder Cup course. Between them, a single overnight at the Parador de Granada — the only hotel set within the walls of the Alhambra itself — and a private night-tour of the Nasrid Palaces under moonlight.
- Finca Cortesín — Solheim Cup 2023, World Top 50 Hotel
- Real Club Valderrama — Spain's #1 course, 1997 Ryder Cup
- Parador de Granada — the only hotel inside the Alhambra walls
- Private night-tour of the Nasrid Palaces with official guide
- Marbella old town · Sotogrande marina · the white villages
- Spain's only snow cave — at the Finca Cortesín spa
The coast for the golf.
The interior for the soul.
Most Costa del Sol itineraries don't leave the coast. This one does — because the real reward of southern Spain is what's an hour or two inland: Granada and the Alhambra, Ronda and the white villages, Seville's old quarter. Five nights anchored at one of Spain's finest resorts, with one night spent inside the Alhambra itself. Slow, considered, distinctly Andalusian.
Your Five Nights
Two championship rounds. The Alhambra by night. Marbella's old town and Sotogrande's marina. Andalusia, slowly.
Málaga → Casares

On-Site · Casares
Finca Cortesín Golf Club
An unhurried morning round on the resort's own course — Cabell B. Robinson's 2006 masterpiece, the host of the 2023 Solheim Cup and three Volvo World Match Plays. 6,800 metres of immaculately presented championship golf with views over the Mediterranean to one side and the Casares Mountains to the other. Lunch in the clubhouse. Afternoon at the Beach Club, ten minutes by complimentary shuttle.
Casares → Granada
A Day for the Alhambra
A late-morning chauffeured transfer inland to Granada — two hours through the Sierra Nevada foothills. Lunch in the Albaicín, the old Moorish quarter, with a view of the Alhambra from across the ravine. Check in at the Parador de Granada — the only hotel inside the Alhambra walls, a converted 14th-century Nasrid palace and Franciscan monastery. Private guided night tour of the Nasrid Palaces — moonlit Patio de los Leones, the Hall of the Ambassadors, and the Generalife gardens — when the day-visitors have gone and the complex is yours alone.
Granada → Marbella → Casares
The Generalife & the Old Town
A morning walk through the Generalife gardens — the summer palace's sequence of cypress avenues, water channels, and orange groves — before checkout. Mid-morning transfer back towards the coast, with lunch en route in Marbella's old town: the Plaza de los Naranjos, lined with orange trees and the seventeenth-century Town Hall. Return to Finca Cortesín for an unhurried afternoon at the spa — Spain's only snow cave, eight treatment rooms, the indoor 25-metre pool — and dinner at Don Giovanni or Kabuki Raw.
Sotogrande, Cádiz
Real Club Valderrama — The Headline
Twenty-five minutes west to Sotogrande and the gates of Real Club Valderrama — Spain's number one course (Golf World 2025), Continental Europe's number six, and the only mainland European venue ever to host a Ryder Cup. Robert Trent Jones Sr.'s cork-oak masterpiece, where Seve Ballesteros captained Europe to a one-point victory in 1997. The famously testing par-five 17th and the closing par-four 18th. Lunch in the clubhouse. Farewell dinner that evening at Finca Cortesín.
Casares → Málaga
Farewell to Andalusia
A leisurely breakfast on the terrace, a final morning at the Beach Club, and a private transfer back to Málaga (45 min) or Gibraltar (15 min) for onward flights. Two championship rounds. One night inside the Alhambra. And eight hundred years of Moorish Spain.

The Alhambra,
after the gates close
The Parador de Granada is the only hotel inside the Alhambra walls — a 14th-century Nasrid palace converted by Ferdinand and Isabella into a Franciscan monastery, restored in 1929 and opened as a Parador in 1945. Thirty-six rooms, of which the most prized is 304: a duplex suite whose bedroom occupies a watchtower with panoramic views of the Generalife gardens and the snow-capped Sierra Nevada.
The privilege of the property isn't really the rooms — it is the moment, after the day-visitors have left, when the entire Alhambra complex empties out and you have its avenues, fountains, and palace facades to yourself, in moonlight. Combined with a private night tour of the Nasrid Palaces — Patio de los Leones, the Hall of the Ambassadors, the Court of the Myrtles — under the guidance of an official Alhambra historian, this is the cultural moment of the trip.
A note: the Parador must be booked six months in advance and is the most-requested of Spain's 93 Paradores. Mosaico secures availability through tour-operator allocation.

The Moorish Andalusia of the Alhambra and the Albaicín. The Andalusia of the white villages and Ronda's gorge. And the resort coast — Marbella's old town, Sotogrande's marina, Puerto Banús's super-yachts. All within reach of one hotel.
