The world's oldest
wine country
Porto wears its history beautifully — UNESCO-listed riverside, baroque churches, port wine lodges aging quietly along the Douro, and beyond the city, the world's oldest demarcated wine region unfolding in terraces toward the Spanish border.
This Mosaic Journey is built around what makes Porto extraordinary: a private day in the Alto Douro Valley, a port lodge masterclass in Vila Nova de Gaia, a walking tour through Ribeira and the legendary Livraria Lello, an intimate fado evening, and a hands-on Portuguese cooking class. Two rounds at Iberia's oldest links — Oporto Golf Club (1890) and the Atlantic dunes of Estela — punctuate the week. Six nights at The Yeatman, the city's most celebrated luxury address, with two Michelin stars and the finest view of Porto from any pillow in the city.
- Private full-day Douro Valley with vintage quinta & river cruise
- Walking tour of Ribeira, Clérigos & Livraria Lello
- Private port wine masterclass at a historic Vila Nova de Gaia lodge
- Hands-on Portuguese cooking class & intimate fado dinner
- Two rounds — Oporto Golf Club (Iberia's oldest) & Estela Atlantic links
- The Yeatman — Relais & Châteaux, 5★ wine hotel above the Douro
Two thousand years
of terraced vineyards
The Douro Valley is the oldest demarcated wine region in the world — schist terraces hand-cut into the steep slopes of the river since Roman times, and listed by UNESCO since 2001. A private day deep in the Alto Douro is the cornerstone of this journey, with a vintage quinta visit, vineyard lunch, and a return cruise through the gorges back to Porto.

Welcome to Porto
Private transfers from Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport to The Yeatman, perched on the Vila Nova de Gaia hillside with sweeping views across the Douro to Porto's UNESCO old town. Time to settle in and walk the riverfront. Welcome dinner with port pairings on the hotel's panoramic terrace.
Porto · Walking Tour
Ribeira, Clérigos & Livraria Lello
Private guided walking tour through Porto's historic centre — Cais da Ribeira and the Dom Luís I Bridge, the baroque Torre dos Clérigos, São Bento railway station's azulejo halls, and the legendary Livraria Lello. Lunch at a traditional Porto tasca, free afternoon along the riverfront, with optional private sidecar tour of the Foz coast.
Douro Valley · Full Day
Into the World's Oldest Wine Region
Private full-day excursion into the Alto Douro — UNESCO World Heritage and the world's oldest demarcated wine region. Drive through Peso da Régua and Pinhão, visit a historic family quinta for a tour of the lodges and a vertical port tasting, lunch among the terraced vineyards, then a Douro river cruise back through the gorges. Return to Porto by private car as the sun sets over the river.
Round One · Espinho
Oporto Golf Club
Founded 1890 by British port wine traders — the oldest golf club in the Iberian Peninsula and the fifth-oldest in Continental Europe. A traditional Mackenzie Ross links, just 20 minutes south of Porto, played across the most authentic links ground in Iberia. The Skeffington Cup, played here every year since 1891, is the oldest continuously contested cup in golf history. Lunch in the historic clubhouse.
Vila Nova de Gaia · Porto
Port Masterclass & Cooking Class
Morning private port wine masterclass at a historic Vila Nova de Gaia lodge — the cellars where the world's port has matured for over three centuries. Tasting of vintage, tawny and white port with the head winemaker. Afternoon hands-on Portuguese cooking class with a local chef — bacalhau, francesinha, and the secrets of the Northern table, paired with vinho verde.
Round Two · Póvoa de Varzim
Estela Golf Club & Fado Evening
Thirty minutes north of Porto, Estela is laid out across three kilometres of Atlantic dunes — Portugal's #11 ranked course and northern Portugal's finest links. A genuine seaside test that has hosted the Portuguese Open. Lunch at the clubhouse overlooking the 18th green, then return to Porto. Evening: intimate fado dinner at one of Porto's most respected venues, where the soul of Portuguese music is sung in candlelit close quarters.

Day 2 · Walking Tour

Day 5 · Vila Nova de Gaia
Port Wine Masterclass
Behind-the-scenes access to a historic Gaia lodge — three centuries of cellars, vintage and tawny tastings with the head winemaker, and the company of the rabelo boats that brought the wine downriver for generations.
Two Rounds of Atlantic Links
For golfing guests, two days of authentic seaside golf at Iberia's oldest clubs — easily slotted into the week's cultural rhythm without ever defining it.
Day 4 · Established 1890
Oporto Golf Club
The eldest club in Portugal and fifth-oldest in Continental Europe. A Philip Mackenzie Ross-remodelled links across genuine sandy ground south of Porto, with a clubhouse that is a monument to the history of Portuguese golf. Home to the 134-year-old Skeffington Cup.
Day 6 · #11 in Portugal
Estela Golf Club
