Queenstown
& the Remarkables
Three Iconic Rounds · 8 Days · South Island, New Zealand
Mosaico Travels
Curated Luxury · Exceptional Destinations
Where the alps meet the lake.
Queenstown sits in a glacial amphitheatre — the saw-toothed Remarkables rising 2,300 metres on one side, the long sapphire reach of Lake Wakatipu on the other, and a town of stone cottages, wine bars and crackling fires tucked between them.
Three rounds across three of the South Island's most celebrated courses. Three days of nothing-at-all between them — to drift up to Glenorchy, walk the gold-rush lanes of Arrowtown, and toast Central Otago Pinot at vineyards an hour from your tee.
- Seven nights at Rosewood Matakauri — Lake Wakatipu's only Relais & Châteaux–level lodge
- Three rounds: Jack's Point, Queenstown Golf Club, and the exclusive Hills
- Glenorchy & Paradise scenic day · Arrowtown & Gibbston Valley wine afternoon
- TSS Earnslaw lake crossing & Walter Peak farewell dinner
- Private transfers throughout · welcome and farewell dining curated
Three rounds. Three worlds.
A clifftop infinity green over Lake Wakatipu. A peninsula carved by glaciers. A private valley patrolled by bronze stags. The golf in Queenstown is not a tour — it is a triptych.
Eight Days in the Southern Alps
A balanced rhythm — three days of golf, three days of country, two days to arrive and depart in style.
Arrival · Queenstown
Touchdown in the Amphitheatre
Private transfer from Queenstown Airport to Rosewood Matakauri, just seven minutes away. Settle into your suite, draw a bath looking out to Cecil Peak, and gather at the lodge for pre-dinner drinks before a welcome dinner in The Dining Room.
Round One · Jack's Point
The Postcard Round
A short drive south to Jack's Point — John Darby's masterpiece carved between the Remarkables and the lake. Eighteen holes through tussock grasslands, schist outcrops and the iconic cliff-edge par-3 7th, with its infinity green hung over Lake Wakatipu. Lunch at the clubhouse, return to the lodge for a fireside aperitif.
Glenorchy & Paradise
A Drive to the Edge of the World
The Glenorchy-Queenstown Road skirts the western shore of Lake Wakatipu — forty-five minutes of the most dramatic alpine driving anywhere. Lunch at a wharf café, an optional jet boat ride up the Dart River into Lord of the Rings country, and a slow return as the late sun gilds the Remarkables.
Round Two · Queenstown Golf Club
The Peninsula Course
A short crossing to the Kelvin Heights peninsula — the triangular spit of land that appears in every Queenstown postcard. Surrounded on three sides by Lake Wakatipu, with the Remarkables rising directly behind every green. The 5th hole curves around the lake itself; the views from the 14th tee are unforgettable.
Arrowtown & Gibbston Valley
Gold Rush & Pinot Noir
A morning wandering Arrowtown's nineteenth-century stone cottages, lunch at a long table among the vines at Amisfield, and a curated afternoon through Gibbston Valley — the world's southernmost wine region, celebrated for its precise, perfumed Pinot Noir. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Round Three · The Hills
The Private Valley
The marquee round. Sir Michael Hill's exclusive championship course in Arrowtown — host of the New Zealand Open, set across a glacial valley dotted with monumental sculpture and bronze stags. Five hundred private acres, a Darby-designed layout, and a clubhouse that feels like an architect's pavilion. A round to remember always.
Lake Crossing · Walter Peak
A Steamship Farewell
Board the TSS Earnslaw — the kauri-decked vintage steamer that has plied Lake Wakatipu since 1912 — and cross to Walter Peak high country station. A sheep-shearing demonstration, a paddock-to-table farewell dinner at the Colonel's Homestead, and a moonlit return across the lake. A perfect Queenstown last night.
Departure · Queenstown Airport
A Slow Goodbye
A leisurely breakfast at the lodge, time on the terrace, and a private transfer to Queenstown Airport. Onward connections to Auckland, Sydney or Singapore — and home.
