Mosaico Travels
Curated Luxury · Exceptional Destinations
The City of Sails, an island of vines, and two of the world's finest links.
Three nights at Park Hyatt Auckland on the Wynyard Quarter waterfront, with a day on Waiheke Island — forty minutes by ferry across the Hauraki Gulf to the vineyards and coastal restaurants that have made Waiheke one of the southern hemisphere's great wine destinations.
Then ninety minutes north to Te Arai Links — the public-access masterpiece from the team behind Tara Iti. Three nights at the Ocean View Rooms, two rounds: Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw's South Course (World #79), and Tom Doak's North Course (World #98). Walking-only links golf the way it was meant to be played.
- Three nights Park Hyatt Auckland · Three nights Te Arai Links Ocean View Rooms
- Two rounds — South Course (Coore & Crenshaw) and North Course (Tom Doak)
- Private Waiheke Island wine tour with Reserve ferry & lunch at Mudbrick
- Auckland exploration — Wynyard Quarter, Britomart, Auckland Harbour Bridge
- Optional helicopter transfer Auckland→Te Arai · Walking caddies for both rounds
Two architects. One coast.
Coore & Crenshaw and Tom Doak working from the same dunes, ninety minutes north of New Zealand's most cosmopolitan city. A trip that opens with harbour lights and Onemata's seafood and closes with fescue fairways meeting the Pacific.
Seven Days, Two Worlds
Three nights of city — culture, harbour, an island excursion. Three nights of pure links golf on the Pacific.
Arrival · Auckland
Welcome to the City of Sails
Arrive at Auckland International Airport, where a private driver meets you for the transfer to Park Hyatt Auckland on the Wynyard Quarter waterfront. Settle into your Harbour View suite, walk the Lighter Basin promenade in the late afternoon, and dine at Onemata — the hotel's signature restaurant of refined, season-driven cuisine.
Auckland · Harbour & City
Wynyard, Britomart & the Sky Tower
A morning at leisure — the Park Hyatt's 25-metre infinity pool overlooks the Lighter Basin, and the spa's iKOU treatments use native manuka and lemon myrtle. After lunch, a private guide for an afternoon walking tour of the historic Britomart precinct, the Auckland Maritime Museum, and the climb (or harbour view) up Sky Tower. Dinner at Cassia or Sidart — chef's choice.
Waiheke Island Excursion
Vineyards Across the Hauraki Gulf
A forty-minute Reserve ferry crosses the gulf to Waiheke — the island that has quietly become one of the southern hemisphere's great wine destinations. A private driver-guide for the day, with tastings at three of the island's standout cellars: Mudbrick, Cable Bay and Stonyridge. Lunch at Mudbrick on the ridge above the gulf — Bordeaux varietals, lavender gardens, the Auckland skyline shimmering across the water.
Auckland to Te Arai
North to the Dunes
Check out of Park Hyatt and transfer ninety minutes north — or, if preferred, a twenty-five minute helicopter flight (optional add-on) directly to the resort helipad. Settle into your Ocean View Room with views over the South Course to the Pacific. An afternoon on The Playground — the world's largest putting green — and dinner at Ric's, the relaxed bar-restaurant overlooking the 18th green.
Round One · South Course
Coore & Crenshaw's Masterpiece
Eight holes border directly on the sea; sixteen of the eighteen view the Pacific. Coore and Crenshaw routed the South Course over rolling sand dunes shaped by wind and ocean — a figure-eight that begins in pine forest, opens onto the headlands, and stays there. Walking-only, with caddie. Long lunch at the Ocean Restaurant after the round; afternoon at the spa or the long stretch of Te Arai surf beach.
Round Two · North Course
Tom Doak's Reply
A different course, a different feel. Doak takes you inland through the pines — there's a Pine Valley quality to the bunkering and the bold green complexes — before delivering you back to the ocean for a dramatic seaside finish. The 11th's "whirlpool" hazard and the 13th's natural waste bunker will be the holes you talk about over dinner. Final evening at the North Clubhouse with a Hawke's Bay red.
Departure · Auckland
A Quiet Morning
Breakfast at the Ocean Restaurant, a slow morning on the deck, then private transfer (or helicopter) back to Auckland International Airport for your onward flight home.
Two Architects. One Coast.
