Mosaico Travels
Curated Luxury · Exceptional DestinationsThree cities. Three civilisations. One unhurried thread.
Rome, Florence, Venice — the eternal triad. Each a city that once was a world. Each, today, a city that demands the traveller move at its own pace: slow Roman mornings, long Florentine lunches, late Venetian aperitivi as the gondolas drift home. This is not a checklist trip. It is twelve days designed to let three of the great civilisations of the West reveal themselves in turn.
Four nights at the Hotel de Russie — a Rocco Forte house steps from the Spanish Steps, with a Secret Garden that Cocteau called "paradise on earth." Four nights at Four Seasons Firenze, set in a 15th-century Medici palace beside one of the largest private gardens in the city. Three nights at Aman Venice — Palazzo Papadopoli on the Grand Canal, with Tiepolo frescoes overhead and the Aman Spa hidden on its third floor. Between them, two championship rounds — Marco Simone, host of the 2023 Ryder Cup, and the historic Ugolino in the Chianti hills — and a wellness ritual at the Aman Spa that earns its own day.
- Four nights Hotel de Russie, Rome · Four nights Four Seasons Firenze · Three nights Aman Venice
- Marco Simone Golf & Country Club — the 2023 Ryder Cup course outside Rome
- Golf dell'Ugolino — the oldest golf club in Italy, in the Chianti hills above Florence
- Aman Spa Venice — the three-hour Aman Journey ritual, plus a private gondola arrival
- Privately-guided Vatican (after-hours), Borghese Gallery, Uffizi, Accademia, Doge's Palace
- Frecciarossa Executive class between cities · private water taxi in Venice · chauffeur throughout
Three cities. One civilisation in three movements.
Imperial Rome. Medici Florence. Serenissima Venice. Travelled in sequence — south to centre to north — they read like the chapters of a single, continuing story. Connected by Italy's flagship Frecciarossa, only a handful of hours apart, lived from three of the great houses of European hospitality.
Twelve Days, Three Cities
Arrive Rome via Fiumicino. Frecciarossa to Florence on Day Five, Florence to Venice on Day Nine. Depart Venice via Marco Polo. Two championship rounds woven in.
Arrival · Rome
Welcome to the Eternal City
Met airside at Fiumicino by your private chauffeur for the transfer to Hotel de Russie, between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. Settle into your Junior Deluxe Suite, take an aperitivo in the legendary Stravinskij Bar under the umbrella pines, and dine on the terrace at Le Jardin de Russie as the swallows dive over the Secret Garden.
Rome · Imperial Rome
Colosseum, Forum & Palatine — Privately Guided
A morning with one of Rome's foremost archaeologist-guides through the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and the Palatine Hill — entering ahead of the queues, with access to areas closed to the public. Long lunch at a quiet trattoria in Monti. Free afternoon for the Pantheon, Trevi, or the boutiques of Via Condotti and Via del Babuino just outside your door.
Round One · Marco Simone
The Ryder Cup Course
A short drive northeast to Marco Simone Golf & Country Club — the 2023 Ryder Cup venue, set against the 11th-century Castello Marco Simone with views of the dome of St Peter's from several tees. Eighteen holes on the championship course re-routed by Tom Fazio II and European Golf Design, including the driveable par-4 16th — the hole where Tommy Fleetwood's tee shot won Europe the cup. Lunch at On The Green, return to Rome for dinner at one of the city's quieter Michelin tables.
Rome · Vatican & Borghese
Sistine Chapel After-Hours, Bernini in the Borghese
A morning private after-hours entry to the Vatican Museums — the Pio Clementino, the Raphael Rooms, and an empty Sistine Chapel before the public arrives. Lunch in Trastevere. An afternoon at the Galleria Borghese with a private art historian — Bernini's Apollo and Daphne, Caravaggio's David with the Head of Goliath, and the Canova Pauline Borghese. A signature treatment at the Irene Forte Spa back at the hotel before dinner.
Rome to Florence · Frecciarossa
South to Centre — Ninety Minutes by Rail
A relaxed Roman breakfast, then a private transfer to Roma Termini for the late-morning Frecciarossa Executive to Florence — ninety minutes of Tuscan countryside in the 10-seat carriage, with at-seat service and a glass of Franciacorta on departure. Met at Santa Maria Novella for the short transfer to Four Seasons Firenze. Settle into your Renaissance Suite overlooking the Gherardesca Garden. Aperitivo on the terrace, dinner at Il Palagio.
Florence · The Renaissance
Uffizi, Accademia & the Duomo Terrace
A morning private guide through the Uffizi — Botticelli's Birth of Venus and Primavera, Leonardo's Annunciation, the Caravaggio room. A midday visit to the Accademia for Michelangelo's David. Lunch on a quiet trattoria garden in Oltrarno. An afternoon climb (or lift) to the Duomo terrace for the closest view in the city of Brunelleschi's dome. Aperitivo on the Four Seasons rooftop as the bells ring across Florence.
Round Two · Ugolino
The Oldest Golf Club in Italy
A short drive south from Florence into the Chianti hills to Golf dell'Ugolino — established in 1889, on this site since 1934, and the oldest golf club in Italy. Designed by British architects Cecil Blandford and Peter Gannon, the par-72 winds through cypress, pine and olive on classically rolling terrain. Featured in Fifty Places to Play Golf Before You Die. Lunch in the historic 1930s Bosio clubhouse, then an afternoon Chianti wine drive home through Greve and Castellina.
Tuscany · Chianti Day
A Day in the Hills — Wine, Truffles & Quiet
A private chauffeured day through the Chianti Classico — a morning at a single estate (we suggest Antinori's Tignanello vineyard or Castello di Ama for art and Sangiovese), a long lunch with a sommelier at one of the great rural tables, and an afternoon in San Gimignano or Volterra before the drive home through the cypress avenues. Late dinner of bistecca alla fiorentina at a quiet table back in Florence.
Florence to Venice · Frecciarossa
North to the Lagoon
A late breakfast in the Gherardesca Garden, then a private transfer to Santa Maria Novella for the early-afternoon Frecciarossa Executive to Venice — two hours through the Apennines, the Po Valley, the wetlands of the Veneto. At Venezia Santa Lucia, Aman's private water taxi waits at the canal-side jetty for the slow approach to Palazzo Papadopoli. Check into your Palazzo Bedroom or canal-view chamber. Aperitivo on the Altana roof terrace as Venice's pink-orange light arrives.
Venice · The Serenissima
San Marco, Doge's Palace & the Secret Itineraries
A morning private gondola through the back canals of San Polo and Dorsoduro with an Aman-curated guide. Coffee in Piazza San Marco. A privately guided Doge's Palace via the Itinerari Segreti — through the secret prisons where Casanova was held, across the Bridge of Sighs from the inside. Lunch at a quiet bacaro for cicchetti and an ombra of wine. An afternoon to wander the Rialto market, the Frari, or simply to get lost.
Venice · Aman Spa Day
The Aman Journey — Three Hours, Three Treatments
A day given over entirely to wellness. The Aman Journey — a three-hour signature ritual at the Aman Spa hidden on Palazzo Papadopoli's third floor. Begin with the welcome foot ritual using Himalayan salt and peppermint. A bespoke massage incorporating the mineral-rich thermal salts and bentonite clays of Salsomaggiore Terme. A facial with the Kengo Kuma-designed Aman skincare line. Light lunch in the Garden. An afternoon at leisure — an optional San Giorgio Maggiore campanile climb at sunset for the best view in Venice. Final dinner at Arva, overseen by Davide Oldani.

The Aman Journey. Three hours. One palazzo.
Hidden on the third floor of Palazzo Papadopoli, the Aman Spa is the city's best-kept secret — three treatment rooms, dimly lit, with one soaking tub. Day Eleven of your itinerary is given over entirely to it.
The Aman Journey is a three-hour signature ritual built across three pathways — Grounding, Purifying, and Nourishing. Choose one. It begins with a welcome foot ritual: Himalayan salt crystals, peppermint and arnica, a warm compress. A bespoke massage follows — incorporating the mineral-rich thermal waters and bentonite clays from Salsomaggiore Terme, one of Italy's great historic spa towns. The treatment closes with a facial using the Kengo Kuma-designed Aman skincare line, available in only five Aman properties in the world.
